With the ease of epidemic, GIF held a number of seminars on “Prevention of money laundering for juveniles” in early 2023, namely the Macau Institute of Management (MIM) and Colégio Diocesano de São José, Cinta Escola in February, and Macau Polytechnic University (UPM) and Saint Joseph University (USJ) in March. During those seminars, GIF’s representatives introduced the laws and regulations related to AML/CFT and raised the awareness on the prevention of money laundering through interesting and interactive ways, such as case sharing, promotional videos and direct communications. GIF’s representatives also introduced the future development and prospects of the compliance industry to tertiary students, to assist them on their career planning and to cultivate more professionals in AML regime in the future. The above-mentioned seminars received positive responses from the colleges and universities.
With the continuous cooperation with academic bodies, GIF will carry out public awareness programs to juveniles to pass on the knowledge of AML/CFT, with an aim to enhance their awareness of law-abiding values. GIF also envisages students to participate in the compliance and related fields of AML/CFT regime in Macao in the future.
