For the purpose of enhancing juveniles’ awareness on preventing money laundering (ML) related crimes, representatives from GIF including Ms. Fong Iun Kei, the Deputy Director of GIF and Mr. Fong Iek Lou, the Functional Chief held a seminar on prevention of money laundering (ML) at Colégio Diocesano de São José, Cinta Escola on 27 February 2023, with a total of 110 teachers and students attended.
 
During the seminar, GIF’s representatives introduced the laws and knowledge related to anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CFT) to the students through an interesting and interactive way, and also explained the risks and harms of ML through case sharing and promotional videos, which aim to strengthen students’ ability to identify criminal tactics related to ML and enhanced the vigilance of ML crimes, so as to avoid being fallen into traps of ML.
 
With the continuous cooperation with academic bodies, GIF will carry out public awareness programs to juveniles to pass on the knowledge of AML and CFT, with an aim to enhance their awareness of law-abiding values.
